There is a distinct possibility that Apple will be offering external Serial ATA (eSATA) storage to its entire Mac line up after details from a patent filing were revealed. that application plus touches on an external computer accessing that storage via a switching mechanism, where holding a key on startup or toggling a hardware control on the host computer itself will aftermath in a low-power mode where its internal storage is made available, being the same as whether an external drive were hooked up to the system. that is very similar to Apple’s Firewire Target Disk Mode.

It might seem weird to come out with a standard-definition (SD) camcorder, but that one is no ordinary camcorder: while most have a 10X optical zoom, Samsung has managed to put a 34X optical zoom in the MX20 (we mentioned that camcorder when Samsung showed its new Camcorder platform). We have not seen what it can do in the real world, but that is impressive on paper. whether you are mainly creating web videos, trading HD resolution for optical zoom might not be so poor, although one has to wonder why Samsung could not integrate both – let me guess: cost.

Highlights

SD card storage (up to 32GB)

3 hrs of battery life

Face recognition

Youtube and iPod friendly presets

Launches in September in Japan

An Alabama woman has already filed a class-action lawsuit against the fruit-inspired company, where despite advertisements touting the new iPhone 3G being ‘twice as fast for half the price’, the Web connection she was getting with her iPhone 3G proved otherwise and worked “slower than expected and advertised,” according to the suit. The suit has 100 class members at the very least, and they are seeking damages of by $5 million, along with a replacement for the iPhone 3G whether it cannot be repaired.

OpenPeak has unveiled the OpenFrame platform that hopes to bring a semblance of the iPhone OS to the home phone, an effort that is normally found on other cell phones without much success so far. The OpenFrame is a tiny tablet that resembles a digital picture frame, and will be accompanied by a traditional handset, where both are manufactured by OpenPeak and will be sold via telecommunications companies for $200 to $300. Developers are encouraged to come up with third-party programs including staples such as a calendar, local weather & news and Net radio. Do you think the OpenFrame platform will catch on, considering similar online services are already available on the PC or laptop? I suppose it might be whether the non-geek demographic were to pick it up.

The Yamanote Line watch from Seahope Japan will definitely turn heads as it comes in a truly rare design. There will be a quartet of such timepieces available, and these are exact, miniaturized reproductions of JR’s Yamanote Line electronic bulletin boards that can be found in Tokyo’s major underground line, in specific the Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ebisu, and Shinagawa stations. You can choose from date and date view modes, but you would be disappointed whether you were expecting a portable train date table instead. No concept on pricing details though.

If you’ve been hankering after the Femisapien from WowWee ever since she made her debut at CES 2008, your lengthy wait will soon be by. You can place an order for the Femisapien for $99.99, additionally known as E.M.A. the Kissing Robot.

Sophisticated and independent, her advanced design and AI allow her to move in distinctly fluid ways. She is intelligent and interactive, speaks her own scheme of Femmish and responds to user gestures, touch, and sounds with her own. She can even interact with and control other Wowwee robots. Tilt her head to access her three main operate modes: Attentive Mode with interactive wandering, seeing and hearing functions, Responsive Mode for walking and scripted actions, and Learning Mode where she remembers precisely how you move her. FemiSapiens hands have control switches you touch to change her motion, or activate with gestures she can see.

Guess many parents will be $99.99 poorer come that holiday season.

The Haptic Radar relies on body-mounted range sensors and small vibrating motors that alerts the wearer of any approaching objects. Watch out, Spiderman! You might have your spider sense, but I have the haptic radar! Hopefully the rest of my body is agile abundant to handle whatever punches that are coming my way, but I don’t think I’ll be able to dodge bullets with that like how Neo does in the Matrix.
