TMDisplay 2.2-inch OLED Panel

TMDisplay has just unveiled the 2.2″ OLED panel that manages to squeeze out QVGA quality graphics with a lifetime of 60,000 hours (more than decent to last you until the device it comes with is distant outdated) and sips just 100mW of juice when in use. that tiny OLED panel will enter production from March 2009 onwards, targeting handsets primarily along with other mobile devices. I would say smaller portable media players will be a huge chunk of the market as well. TMDisplay has yet to decide the scale of production as at press date.

Bose SoundDock Series II

Bose has updated its SoundDock with the Series II that will see iPhone compatibility thrown in for good measure, in addition to auxiliary inputs as well as a slight redesign on the exterior. It maintains an nearly similar footprint as with the original, and is compatible with nearly all iPods as well as both iPhones. Both the speakers and wiring on the SoundDock Series II have been shielded from cell interference, allowing you to use it without having to opt for an “airplane mode” as found in other devices that are not shielded. Interested parties will be able to pick up the SoundDock Series II for $299 when it is released that September.

Apple Walkpod

No notion whether that is a concept or a modified cassette player, but it definitely dwells upon the view of an iPod design that was unveiled back in the Walkman’s heydays, where cassettes were all the rage thereupon. Of course, you had better amass a healthy collection of AA batteries (or simply get rechargeable ones) whether you want to run that since the backlight ought to sip a considerable amount of juice in addition to the playback mechanism. Perhaps a dimmer switch for the LCD display would be a prudent view?

Samsung BD-P2550 high-end Blu-Ray player at Best Buy

Skipping the “leaks and rumors” part of a device life cycle, the Samsung BD-P2550 just showed up on BestBuy.com. It is positioned as a high-end player with supposedly good video scaling capabilities, Dolby TrueHD (7.1 channel), upgradable firmware (via USB or Ethernet). whether you are really looking for these features, take a look. Personally, I’d rather buy a PS3, which is still considered as one of the best Blu-Ray player out there and it has movie rentals/downloads. Did I mention games?
